LETTERS TO JUNE…

Image
Been a long while Since I got this all prepared For an Homecoming 2 years to be exact I was almost pretty sure I was done for good Little wears and tears my womb gave Due to the "Formers" Papa alwayz got lucky, you know 4 threadlines of royal boys Mama never got an happy ending Now, They'll definitely change their minds Hey kiddo Make plans for when the rain comes For only the lazy scramble At the sight of grey clouds" Make hay while the sun shines It's wicked stare, A blessing in disguise But for a short while And always remember Every night before you lay A million dream awaits you Just don't fall too deep Though the sun bleaks today And the wind whispers caution I'm certain within me Today, you'll find HOME Papa doesn't look so bright today And I seem to know why But, no worries little June You make it all right again I know it's hard to understand now But Mama aint so strong anymore I do hope

Sunrise and sunsets Rainfalls and raindrops On and on they go How long shall we wait Political lies, polished truths A cycle that never ends On and on they go How long shall we wait "The labour of our Heroes past Shall never be in vain" On and on they go How long shall we wait The young grow Old The Old go down On and on they go How long shall we wait Shall our eyes go dark In Old age Shall our bones stricken From promises made Shall our kindreds succumb To endless bondage Poverty chains In disguise Shall we also go down To dust Believing in a change Our Fathers told us How long then Shall we wait Till our eyes Behold the glory of a "better tomorrow"… … Model: tunmisetestifier

DID MAMA LIE…???

You tell me Make plans for when the rain comes But how do I survive this night Without no roof You always say Make hay while the sun shines But the grey clouds still stare And the rain never stops You tell me A million dream awaits me Every night before I lay But then again, I've got short memories I remember the sun of yesteryears Piercing through our thatched roof In big holes and intense heat We had no privacy The waters of banked up rivers Flushing away our belongings It's monstrous sights Our yearly threats Look beyond the grey Keep hope alive It just might be our Goldmine, Another lie They don't care about us poor people Was how Dad explained it But I didn't know we was poor Till Dad proclaimed it Yesterday I walked the nights alone I carried in my eyes An orphan's fright I hate the sunsets now They remind of the happiness I no longer have Fading across the horizon Did Mama lie All these while Or did her word
